It's been a week since the SoCal trip I took with Cindy, Steven, Tony, Kim & Thao. That was quite a trip! =) It was the first super far away trip I've been on without my parents. (Sri Lanka doesn't count, that wasn't vacation!! haha ) So it was exciting! At the same time, it was crazy because I had to manage my money by myself without extra money from the parents. And i was trying hard not to use any credit or debit card. I can proudly say that I did not use my card! =) YAY for tu-anh!! hahaha so let's start the quick adventure: much to cover...
Thursday: so i am sitting in my room trying to organize my ipod to prepare for the trip... all of the sudden i hear a knocking on my door faintly. must have been my imagination! so i ignored it and continued with what i was doing. ... KNOCK KNOCK!! mmm can't ignore it this time! i wonder.. as i opened the door! i c Steven walking to his car! haha. apparently my phone was not working! lol sorry steven!! so we headed over to Cindy's house to wait for Tony and Kim to pick us up! the CAR was so tiny to fit 6 people! hahaha oh wells! we were saving money from renting a van. ROAD TRIP! the boys took turns to driving. We didn't let Steven drive since it was his birthday. right at midnight we sang happy birthday to steven in the car. haha oh what fun! =) then we stopped by this restaurant called Iron Skillet! to have a midnight dinner. It was kinda strange... we walked in & we were the only asians visible to the naked eye. haha and boy were we LOUD! lol SUCH good foooood! =) afterwards it was straight to Irvine... since it was already like 2am. We got to irvince probably around like 3-4 ish? we all tried to go to bed... but i had a hard time, with thao and cindy passing almost right away.
Friday: .. Around 7am I woke up, to find Steven already awake and ready to go! craziness!! It took the girls forever to get ready. oh how typical! i think they complained too! lol. then it was DISNEYLAND time!! =) we ended up not getting the 1-day hopper because UCI computer system was down at the time, so we couldn't get the discount price. So we ended up just going to Disneyland to purchase the one theme park ticket. and of course we went to DISNEYLAND!:D the ha
ppiest place on earth and where Dreams do come true! lol It was pretty packed when we got there, but that didn't stop us from having a lot of fun. Went on a couple of rides... we went on: that one jungle ride, Indiana Jones, pinoco?, PETER PAN!!!, pirates of the carribean! which totally kicked ass because Johnny Depp is in it! =) oh yes that one ride.. "it's a small world..." haha =) that was a relaxing ride. WE saw the Honey I shrunk the audience show. WE got to TALK TO STITCH!! how awesome was that?!?!?!?! !!!!! SUPER! he was so cute! he sang happy birthday to steven too! =) so cute! it was a little obvious that there was someone behind the screen talking to us. Then we went to get ready to watch the disney parade. that was pretty cool! the dancing was very cool, it reminded me of the band competition during h.s. then it was fireworks at night! NOW that was AWESOME!!! =) I have never seen a show like that before. The thing close to it was the 4th of july firework show on television i watched with my dad one year... then it was time to head down to San Diego.. damn what bums we were.. got there around 2? 3? saw a mormon church along the way.. what is with me and mormon churches...Saturday: Steven and I didn't fall asleep until like 4 because we were looking at pictures. We went to a nice Thai restaurant for lunch because we didn't leave the house until like 11am. the food was really yummy =) hehee Then we headed to San Diego zoo, since we got there so late we were scared that we were not going to have enough time to look at the whole place. how bad could it be? it's a zoo! .. I learned quickly that the SD zoo is not to be reckon with. it is HUGE!! it was kinda cool! =) but it got tiring REALLY fast! HAHA. plus with only a total of maybe 4 hours of sleep from the previous nights, the lack of sleep really catches up to you. Kim and I started to get realllly tired! and 6pm came and it was time to go home. so we headed up to a hotel! FINALLY a place we can call OURS! hahaha =) lounged around and headed down to TJ, Mexico! It was pretty interesting, once you cross the border you can tell the differences in countries.. =/ it was quite sad seeing those people out late trying to still sell things at such a late time =( it broke my heart. we walked around before heading into the club. it was ALRIGHT. not my scene really. lol then we went home! but we didn't sleep we all busted out with our laptops and watched movies. lol!!
Sunday: It was such a chill day, check out. Met up with another Cindy ^.^ too many Cindys to count now... haha JK =] WE had some ASIAN food! it was the first asian food i had all weekend! =] I was very happy, and realize how asian food is my comfort zone no matter how unasian i think i am. hahah afterwards we decided not ot go to the UCSD show because how late it would for us when we got home. so =( as sad as Kim, Cindy and i were =( =( but instead we went to phuoc loc tho instead! =] That place is like my second home. heeheehe It was weird to go to L.A. without my parents, it proves how much I depend on them when we go out of town... sigh, need to learn to be on my own more often. THen it was time to head home. =] Didn't get home until 2am. THANKS STEVEN! =] FOR driving me home! ^.^ Steven said something that was really interesting. He told me that it would be weird to wake up the next day and not have everyone there. There was alot of excitement the entire weekend. sigh =] oh what fun!
