ASIA 54 just came out! =] and i am loving it! =] I always love asia when they come out. there were a couple of performances that really stood out. The costumes were outstanding. They totally showcased the boys that won on the chon lua tai nang moi.
Dong song ky niem & Mot Nua Doi Em: (Quoc Khanh & Thien Kim)
Quoc Khanh (first place on the sbtn singing contest) sang with Thien Kim. He is really cute,and his voice is strong. The right guy won first place. However, i don't think this song was the right song for him to sing. Thien Kim was cute as always... the song has a reputation of it's own, however i don't think she was able to meet y lan's standards for that song, or Lam thuy van's version either.
Trom nhin nhau & Ai bieu anh lam thinh: (Dang The Luan, My Huyen & Tuan Vu)
I have nothing to say about my huynh and tuan vu. Yen Phuong & Bao Tuan did this piece a while back, and i think their version was better
However, DTL just blew my mind. He sang that song just so well!! I'm completely speechless. Enough said. =]
Hoa binh oi, Viet nam oi: (Phuong Dung, Trung Chinh & Doanh Doanh)
I'm an oldie, i can't help it! i thought Phuong Dung and Trung Chinh did a good job with this song. Then.... Doanh Doanh came out.. I think it's time for Doanh Doanh to move on and find another career to focus on. Singing is just not her forte. I've always loved this song though, Le Uyen sang it a while back. It was good then, it was good now =]
Dinh Gio Hu: (Doan Phi, Le Nguyen)
One of my favorite Truc Ho & LNT song, so i'm a little bias with this song. BUt i think Sy Dan did a great job hoa am"ing" this song. Even though Doan Phi and Le Nguyen are brand new singers, and their voices aren't really that strong yet. This song was still very enjoyable. I think Doan Phi is cuter ^.^ Le Nguyen.. interesting thing about that kid. He is from San Jose. I saw him perform a couple months back at Hayward's cultural show. and now he is on Asia. Haha makes that dream a little more reachable isn't it? =] WINKY WINKY!! I liked it because this performance was fresh! =] the concept was a little bit like PBN though...
Days & Nights of Missing You: (Thuy Huong & Even)
Wonderfully made. The Hoa am was awesome, the singers did very well, and the dancing was awesome. I think that Thuy Huong should stick to only singing with American style type music. When she singing in vietnamese, it's like something is wrong with her. HAHA anyways, I wasn't really satisfied with Thuy Huong up until this performance, since the split of Puriti. I will be watching her closely. Evan did a good job, his voice is not bad at all! i think he should look into doing a solo career, because it does not seem like Asia 4 will be going anywhere, anytime soon.
Me Yeu: (Lam Thuy Van)
mmm Lam Thuy Van singing a song composed by Truc Ho. What could go wrong? They are a great duo. Lam Thuy Van is absolutely one of the best singers of our time presently. Enouh said =]
Dieu Gi Do & Mai Yeu Nguoi Thoi: (Trish & Cardin)
Trish needs to reinvent herself. Her performances are starting to be very repetitious. I did not like her outfit either. After being in the music industry for such a long time, i am very surprise that her vietnamese has barely improved. tsk tsk, not good. CArdin, no complaints. =] He always fully deliveries his songs. He keeps proving to us why he is in this industry. Cardin is a wonderful performancer =]
Toi Nhiep Than Anh: (Lam Nhat Tien)
I don't know what happened with him, but if he quitted the industry that would have been a shame. With this song, His proves to us he is one of the best singers in Vietnamese history ^.^ I have never doubted him!! =] well i can be a little bias, since i love him! hahaha =] but again. Lam Nhat Tien and Truc Ho together. Those two were a match made in heaven. Music wise that is. haha
* The other performances were good to, but they didn't catch my attention.
** Only pickle i have with this Video is no Anh Minh. Where is she? I noticed that Da Nhat Yen was not in it either. =(
